Data Sources and Licences

HESTIA's models calculate with data from many third parties: background life cycle inventory databases, statistics, characterisation factors and geospatial datasets. Each has its own licence, and several require a specific citation or ask that changes to their data are documented. This page lists them, for glossary version 0.101.0.

HESTIA's own data licence and how to cite HESTIA are on Citation and Data Licence. A licence marked Under review is being confirmed with the data provider; one marked Not yet recorded has not been added to the glossary yet.

Lookup tables

The models read these datasets from the glossary's lookup tables. Each lookup's documentation records its source and every change HESTIA made — what was removed, aggregated or rounded — for this glossary version.
