This page, together with the Terms of Use , describes how we collect and use your personal data for the Harmonised Environmental Storage and Tracking of the Impacts of Agriculture ( HESTIA ) platform.
If you register to upload data, we collect your first name, last name, email address, institution, and ORCiD ID with associated information, and link that to the data you upload.
If you access data, we collect a log of errors to debug our website including information about the device used to access the website, the IP address, and platform. If you are signed in, these error reports also include your user ID, so that we can trace a problem back to your account. They do not include your name, your email address or your password. We do not use cookies or other tracking software.
If you read our public data through an integration, such as a connector for an AI assistant, we receive the query and the same error and access logs described above. These requests are not linked to a HESTIA account. If you configure the integration with your HESTIA access token, it can reach the same data as your account, and we treat its requests as requests you make directly.
We store this data digitally on cloud hosted secure servers.
The HESTIA team is the "data controller", which means we decide how to use it and are responsible for looking after it under the GDPR. The HESTIA team consists of the researchers and developers listed on our GitLab page and the Oxford Martin School website . We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
We will only retain your data for as long as we need it to fulfil our purposes, including any relating to legal or reporting requirements.
