The edible hard-skinned fruit of the winter squash plant. This term can be used to describe the fruit of different species and cultivars, including the butternut squash (Cucurbita moschata) and the acorn squash (Cucurbita pepo var. turbinata). To further specify the species and/or cultivar, use the [variety](/schema/Product#variety) field. Note: to describe the pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo var. pepo), use the "pumpkin" term.
