Water table level (above hard pan)

The height of the water table above the hard pan (the hard pan is the nearly impervious soil layer that allows paddy fields to be flooded). Express as positive values if the water level is below the soil, and negative values if the water level is above the soil. This is typically measured with a field water tube, and is an important measure for paddy rice in particular.
