Slope length

The distance from the point of origin of overland flow to either of the following (whichever is limiting for the major part of the area under consideration): (a) the point where the slope decreases to the extent that deposition begins, or (b) the point where runoff enters a well-defined channel that may be part of a drainage network or a constructed channel such as a terrace or diversion.
