Recirculating Aquaculture System
A closed aquaculture system in which 90% or more of the culture water is purified and reused continuously. Basic treatments include solids removal with mechanical filters and ammonia removal with biofilters. Other elements such as UV light disinfection lamps, oxygenators and ion exchange devices can be added.
