Extensive system (aquaculture)
A farming system defined by the [Aquaculture Production Intensity Scale](https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4441/12/3/765/pdf) as: Systems that always supply the output function of ‘harvesting’ and have at least one of the input functions or the output function of ‘preventing escapes‘. The other input functions apart from ‘providing light’ are optional. Extensive aquaculture systems have no treatment functions. The extensive definition is the lowest denominator for calling a system aquaculture. Aquaculture system must have human interventions so usually at least stocking and harvesting is needed. The other output functions are not possible here as they indicate much more complex system.
