Black carbon, to air, industrial processes
Black carbon emissions, generated from physical or chemical processes during manufacturing, but not from combustion. Black carbon is a component of particulate matter where the particles are made of pure carbon with some hydrogen and oxygen arranged in a layered hexagonal structure. Atmospheric levels are measured based on the transmission of light through a sample.
Also known as: BC; Soot; PM
- Term type: Emission
- Units: kg black carbon
